Sea of Cortez
Also known as the Gulf of California, the Sea of Cortez is a marginal sea of the pacific ocean that separates the Baja peninsula from mainland Mexico. Described by Jaques Cousteau as "The aquarium of the world", the gulf is thought to be one of the most diverse seas on the planet and is home to over 5000 species of micro-invertibrates and a wide range of endemic species.
